A FUNDRAISER involving a fire raised over £5,000 for a local children’s hospice.
William 'Lenny' Worthing tries to raise money for charities every year and for 2023 he has decided to take on one of his biggest challenges to date in aid of Hope House.
This year Lenny hosted a fire walk, which saw people walk over hot embers or hot stones.
He said: “It went really well – we had around 40 people there.

“Some even walked over it twice or one guy three times.”
The participants received a briefing before the event which explained to them all the tricks they need to do the challenge.
Lenny added: “Basically you had to think about something nice that brings you comfort and you had to shout it as you walked.
“Some people did their loved ones, their cars or their favourite pet.”
Some of the contestants walked away with blisters but no one was severely injured.
Everyone walked away with a certificate for their courage.
Lenny wants to thank the team from Newton Morrisons Foundation, that matchbox employees fundraising for their Twinned Hospice, with one lady raising over £1,000 by herself.
Additionally the fundraiser wants to thank The Plough who helped him in his recent efforts.
In the past Lenny has ran marathons dressed up as beloved characters such as a Minion, he has wing walked, and done all sorts to raise money for different charities.
