CHIRK Castle Dark Run saw hundreds of people lighting up the path, raising nearly £17,000 to support Hope House Children’s Hospices.
Individuals and families of all ages turned out in fancy dress, glow sticks and torches in hand, to complete an illuminated route around the castle.
The total figure raised includes match-funding from the charity's partners at the Principality Building Society.

Fundraiser Bekki Fardoe said: “It was amazing to see so many people at Chirk Castle dressed in fantastic costumes to light up the night for local families.
“We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part, as well as our sponsors, support partners and volunteers.
“It was definitely a night to remember and we’re incredibly grateful to the community for coming together to support their local children’s hospice."
The Chirk run was started by Martine Crouch and her son Caiden in front of the castle which was lit up in Hope House colours.
The family helped get the event under way in memory of Martine’s daughter Mia, who died at the age of four in 2018 after receiving support from Hope House.
The Chirk Dark Run gained incredible support from local businesses.
Among those responding to the cause were Glyn Wylfa, Thermseal Windows, Chirk Town Council, J Jervis Accounting, and Kronospan.
Each played their part in making the fundraising event a memorable night of light for Chirk.
