MEMBERS, family and friends of the Llanymynech Golf Club have celebrated together the 90th anniversary of the group.
On Saturday, September 2, Stuart Jones, chair of management, welcomed everyone to the club’s spectacular hill-top location with some fascinating historical facts about the site.

Llanymynech hill has seen some action over the years, with Offa’s Dyke bordering the course and a Roman burial site beside the fifth green, that’s thought to date to King Caractacus’ defence against the Romans in AD 51.
This weekend it was all about bouncy castles, face painting, a close-up magician and live music, and no battles.
A member of the club said: “Our family thoroughly enjoyed our day on the hill and were very impressed by all the thought and work which had gone into making sure that there was something for the whole family.”
A golf competition with adults enjoying a chipping contest and juniors vying for the longest putt, was one of the many activities at the celebration.
Barbecue food was laid on by catering manager Jason, and his team, together with a gin and prosecco bar and a wide variety of local beers, and music that made participants dance into the night.
