A growing online sweet treats maker has revealed plans to start selling its goods to the public visiting Lake Vyrnwy from a new timber cabin.
Online business So Sweet Couture has submitted plans to Powys County Council, requesting permission to construct a timber cabin to display and sell the packaged products to the local community and the visiting public.
The cabin would be located at Dam View on the edge of Llanwddyn, bounded by a highway to the north and a public footpath to the south.
‘So Sweet Couture’ specialises in handmade chocolates, confectionary and cakes with eco friendly packaging. Having established an online business for the past five years, they are now looking for a outlet to sell their products.
The proposed timber cabin is described in the application as being “small in scale” and non-permanent in nature, meaning it can be removed and relocated if ever required in the future.

The application states: “The building is of a small scale and is discretely located by being set back from the front elevation of the dwelling.
“The building is located to integrate into the landscape without being prominent and screened by existing mature shrubs and trees, ensuring that the proposed development does not detract from the overall character and appearance of the area.
“The materials of the proposed development complement that of the existing area and blends into the surrounding environment.”
Dam View is currently a dwelling, but in the past the site has played host to local shops, a post office and a bakery that served the community following the construction of Lake Vyrnwy Dam.
The proposed timber cabin would occupy space located in the larger footprint of a previously demolished outbuilding.
So Sweet Couture makes and packages all of its products from within the existing site on Dam View, meaning the proposed timber cabin would add to their current business site and serve as an outlet to sell the products to customers and visitors.
The application is currently pending approval by Powys County Council.
