A famous Weatherfield resident has visited Powys to enjoy a holiday with his family.
Coronation Street’s Mikey North who is famous for playing Weatherfield bad boy Gary Windass enjoyed a stay at some unique earth covered pods just outside Llanrhaeadr Ym Mochnant
Heather Mills, who runs the pods with her family, said they were “lovely people and they absolutely loved their holiday.”
“It was lovely having Mikey North to stay,” said Heather. “He was a very pleasant guest and really easy to talk to, they loved Llangollen and Bala. The kids absolutely loved the hot tub and they enjoyed waking up to see the horses over the fence.”
Mikey who is also well for his role as Helmsley in the BBC’s Waterloo road was the first famous guest the business has had staying there after opening in 2021 as a way to diversify the family’s farm.
“We are a dairy and sheep farm just on the outskirts of Llanrhaeadr Ym Mochnant,” said Heather.
“We decided in 2020 that we wanted to diversify the farm so we thought that two earth covered pods as holiday accommodation would be the best way to go as its something a little different.
“It's very much based on the idea of the hobbit houses in the Lord of the rings films. We opened in June 2021 and haven't looked back. Guests enjoy being around the animals and can spend time grooming the ponies.
