OSWESTRY skies were awash with colour as the 2023 Balloon Carnival took place in the town’s park over the weekend.
The family fun festival in Cae Glas Park, took place on Saturday and Sunday, August 19 and 20, and it helped raised money for Nightingale House Hospice.
The charity event is a community effort between Oswestry Town Council, Spirit Operations and supported by Oswestry BID.
Oswestry Town Mayor, Councillor Olly Rose said: "Thank you so much to everyone who helped to make this another great weekend free event in our town.
"Special thanks to Spirit Operations, all the staff at Oswestry Town Council who worked so hard and the many volunteers, the wonderful stallholders and performers in the arena and finally to all the people who came along to create the lovely atmosphere.”

In a Facebook post, Oswestry BID, also thanked everyone involved for a great weekend.
It read: “What a weekend at Oswestry Balloon Carnival.
“A big thank you to all the businesses, residents and visitors for continuing to support Oswestry Balloon Carnival, and helping to support the vital work of Nightingale House Hospice - you are much appreciated.
“We will announce the count from the generous donations made over the next few days from Nightingale House.”
The event was free, but an optional £1 donation to the Hospice was encouraged.
