POLICE have confirmed a man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene following a collision on the A5 between Mile End and Whittington in Oswestry.
West Mercia Police were called out at 5.10am on Sunday, August 20.
The road was closed for several hours until it was re-opened at 11am.
A spokesperson from the police: “The collision involved a car and a pedestrian.

“Sadly, despite the best effort of emergency services the pedestrian, a man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene.
“No arrests have been made.”
West Mercia has launched an information appeal following the collision.
Police Constable Steve Wootton from the Serious Collison Investigation Unit said: ‘‘Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this sad time.
"I would like to appeal for any witnesses to the collision to come forward or anyone who was passing through the area around 5.10 Sunday morning who may have dash-cam footage’’.

West Midlands Ambulance Services were also in attendance with two ambulances and a paramedic officer.
A spokesperson from WMAS said: "Upon arrival we found a man who was the pedestrian.
"He had sustained life threatening injuries.
"Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of ambulance staff it became clear that nothing more could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased at the scene.
"The driver of the car did not require treatment."
