THERE will be a public opening ahead of a cultural art project in Oswestry next month.
ART-efact will be at the former Edinburgh Wool Mill, which is now called the Cross Market Building, in Cross Street, with a public opening from 6pm-8.30pm on Friday, September 8 with drinks and music.
A spokesman for ART-efact explained the concept and how the display will work in its run in September.
They said: “ART-efact is part of an exciting summer of art in Oswestry, celebrating creativity and culture throughout the summer and building on the success of Love Oswestry events developed by the town's Cultural Consortium.
“The four selected artists in residence: Emma Cummings, Jean Atkin, Joseph Schneider and Paul Bohanna, will showcase their work and ideas from the ART-efact art residency.

“Over the summer 2023, the selected artists have worked with the town council archives and museum and met with local experts to explore Oswestry’s history and stories.
“In this final exhibition, artists will present their work, inspiration and ideas in an exciting exhibition that celebrates Oswestry’s heritage and culture.”
The exhibition will run as a part of the Heritage Open Day Festival 2023 themed ‘Creativity Unwrapped’ and will open to the public Friday, September 8 through to Sunday, September 17.
ART-efact is funded by Art Council England and Oswestry’s Cultural Consortium.
