AN OSWESTRY man will be sentenced next month after he admitted assaulting two emergency workers.
Joseph Farrell, of Llwyn Road in Oswestry, pleaded guilty to both charges against a paramedic and a student paramedic.
The incident happened at the 49-year-old's home on March 31, this year.
Shrewsbury Crown Court, sitting at Telford, yesterday (Tuesday, August 8) was told how Farrell had pulled out a knife which led to the pair leaving.
Sara Wyeth, defending, said: "The defendant was having a very difficult day with his mental health.
"The paramedics had been called to assist and they were sat with him and asked if he had anything he could harm himself with.

"He then moved to a box containing the knife, then picked it up, and they fled and he followed."
Ms Wyeth continued: "There is no allegation of threat or use of the knife, he just put it in his hand. He's not gone out of his way to harm them. It's just an unfortunate situation."
The court was told that a psychiatric report had been prepared and Ms Wyeth asked if her client could be sentenced yesterday, however Recorder Jason MacAdam declined the request and adjourned sentencing until September 5 pending a probation report.
Farrell was granted unconditional bail.
