A FARM on the outskirts of Oswestry has submitted plans to change the use of buildings, including by increasing the number of caravans which can be stored on the site.
The resubmitted plans for Mile House Farm, in Shrewsbury Road in Aston, were sent to Shropshire Council on Friday, July 28 and also included an application to install a private treatment plant with associated works.
A design and access statement, produced by Hall Holdings Ltd – based in Shrewsbury – says the application is from the owners of the farm and was resubmitted to address concerns from Highways regarding visibility.
It says: “The steel buildings are separate but adjoining buildings.
“Their shape naturally determines a logical layout for the unit size. However internally, the buildings will be split to create 10 units.
“Existing door openings will be used to serve the units. Some new openings will be created to provide personnel doors.”

The application added that the owners wanted to increase the capacity of caravan storage from 20-25 to 45.
It added: “The site for the storage is located in an enclosed area at the back of the farmyard, surrounded by trees and it can’t be seen from the road.
“Caravan storage started circa 15 years ago when the owner was asked if he could store a small number of caravans.
“A clear market for this storage use was identified and the number stored increased over time.”
The applicants added that if permission was granted, it would allow the owners to improve the currently visual impact of the site.
Consultation on the application is open until Tuesday, August 29 – for more information, search 23/03320/FUL on Shropshire Council’s planning portal.
