WORK on Oswestry's hotly-anticipated new McDonald's restaurant is in full swing, new drone shots show.
The McDonald’s on the former Smithfield Livestock Market site off Shrewsbury Road, will open in just a few weeks, and new pictures shared with the Advertizer's Camera Club by Andrew Donnison show that building work is moving fast.
The proposed fast-food establishment is depicted in the plans to feature a 100-seat restaurant and a drive-thru, accompanied by a 45-space car park. Additional amenities will include bicycle stands and a children's play area.

Shropshire Council's planners gave the green light to the new restaurant's plans in January 2021, with the company aiming to provide a significant employment boost to Oswestry.
For the last couple of months, job advertisements have been in circulation, covering roles ranging from crew members to customer service and maintenance.
The renowned fast-food chain has announced that the eatery is now set to open at the end of summer.
This timeframe is a shift from their earlier projection of an autumn launch.
Currently, the closest branch is located in Chirk.
