During their stay, the Scouts will also have the incredible opportunity to explore Seoul for three days and visit the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), witnessing the historic demarcation line between North and South Korea that emerged at the end of World War II.

Isaac Stevenson, 16, from Oswestry, said ahead of the trip: “I absolutely love water sports so can’t wait to get out there and have a go at them all.

“The trip to the DMZ looks awesome and I’m excited to get a glimpse of North Korea.

“I’m really looking forward to swapping my huge bag of badges with Scouts from all over the world.”

For Oswestry Scouts and over 4,500 others from the UK, this Jamboree is the culmination of years of anticipation, as only Scouts aged 14 to 17 are eligible to apply.

With participants selected two years in advance, these young adventurers have honed their fundraising skills to finance this once-in-a-lifetime trip.
