NATIONAL Highways has announced seven weeks of disruptions as they upgrade 54 lights on the A483 in a village near Oswestry.
The works in Pant will be part of the company's commitment to reducing its carbon footprint, and the upgrade will also involve replacing the cabling to streamline future maintenance processes.
To minimise disruption in the area, the work will take place between 8am and 4pm from July 31 to September 15, 2023, on weekdays.
A spokesperson from the National Highways said: “To maintain safety and reduce disruption, we’ll install temporary traffic lights on the A483.

“These will move along the road in short sections as we upgrade each light.
“Some overnight closures may be required between 7.30pm and 4am.
“We'll provide more information should these closures be needed.”
Throughout the project, National Highways will prioritise minimising the impact on the local community and travellers.
However, unanticipated circumstances or adverse weather conditions may lead to necessary adjustments in the schedule.
The upgrade is part of the broader initiative to create a more environmentally friendly road infrastructure.

They added: “We’re conducting a survey of the road network to identify areas where LED lighting can be installed or upgraded.
“Our work may involve replacing some roadside infrastructure and may cause lane closures during retrofitting.
“We'll always aim to keep disruption to a minimum when carrying out work on the roads we manage.”
By March 2027, the majority of lighting in the region will be retrofitted with LEDs, resulting in a remarkable up to 65 per cent reduction in energy consumption.
