A TOWN centre play area has been closed so a ground survey can take place ahead of plans to install a splash pad.
Oswestry Town Council announced over the weekend that the playground in Cae Glas Park would be closed on Monday, July 24 and Tuesday, July 25 in order to complete a full ground survey.
They have since confirmed that this is for the planned installation of a splash pad at the site.

The council's operations manager, Henry Teuman, confirmed that the recent hole which appeared in the children’s playground will also be looked at but it is not the sole purpose of the investigation.
He added: "I spoke to the contractor today and we hope to open it before Wednesday."
In the estate report, heard at a council meeting on June 14, it was explained that the survey will advise potential contractors on the status of the ground as well as to allow the foundations and placement of tanks and other equipment, and to advise on any utility lines with the area ahead of the splash pad being installed.
The splash pad is expected to cost around £500,000 – from the Smithfield windfall money – to build with an annual maintenance budget of £20,000 with expressions of support and concern on social media for the project.
