A MAN who admitted having a sword in a public place will be remanded in custody before he faces a trial for stalking.
Charlie Quick, of Old Chirk Road in Gobowen, appeared at Telford Magistrates Court from HMP Hewell where he was taken seven days ago.
He was due to be sentenced for three charges – possession of an offensive weapon in a public place when he had a sword in Shrewsbury Road, Oswestry, on Thursday, June 29, plus two charges of breaking or likely to break bail conditions.
A fourth charge of using threatening and abusive words to members of the public was withdrawn by the Crown Prosecution Service.

Quick also faces a trial at Telford Magistrates Court on Thursday, August 10 on charges of stalking involving serious alarm/distress.
Magistrates remanded Quick in custody until his trial on August 10.
A pre-sentence report will be prepared ahead of his sentencing for the Shrewsbury Road incident, which will follow the conclusion of that trial.
