OSWESTRY residents together with a local MP are demanding answers from Shropshire Council following repair works on Cross Street in the town centre.
Member of Parliament, Helen Morgan, has taken a strong stance in contacting Shropshire Council's chief executive over what she describes as 'haphazard' repair works.
The current repairs on Cross Street also caused concern among Oswestry residents, as tarmac has been used to fill holes left by removing paving stones, leading to an unsightly scar on one of the town's busiest streets.

This marks the second instance in recent times where Ms Morgan has intervened in matters concerning the town's improvement.
Earlier, she called on Shropshire Council to expedite improvements to Church Street.
Mrs Morgan said: “Residents of Oswestry want to live in a town they can take pride in.
“Sadly, that has been made a lot harder since the council installed ugly barriers that cost £8,000 a month on Church Street, and now this haphazard repair work on Cross Street.
“I have written to the chief executive demanding an explanation of how this has been allowed to happen on, and what they are going to do to remedy it.
“I know that local councillors, residents, and businesses are up in arms about this.
