A FARM dispersal sale will take place at a farm near Oswestry later this month.
The sale at Grove Farm in Maesbrook will take place on July 22 as part of the retirement of J. W. Simpson.
It comes as part of a busy month for regional livestock and machinery auctioneers, Halls who have several sales taking place across Shropshire and Wales.
The season kicked off with the retirement dispersal sale of Laurence and Phyllis Morris at Mount Farm, Haimwood, Llandrinio, which saw an impressive turnout and strong trade.
With 124 different buyers vying for the 300 lots on offer, leading prices reached a whopping £29,000 for a 2012 JCB Loader 526 and £18,000 for a 2004 New Holland TS100A tractor with Quickie loader.

And there will be a further retirement dispersal sale for the estate of the late Peter Groom at Halghton Grove Farm, Penley, near Wrexham on July 26.
Senior auctioneer Jonny Dymond, manager of Shrewsbury Auction Centre, expressed his enthusiasm, stating: “It’s definitely one of the company’s busiest months for sales. In addition to our weekly livestock markets in Shrewsbury and Bishops Castle, we have a sale every Saturday during July and are already taking bookings for the autumn.”
Halls' chairman, Allen Gittins, who is organising the dispersal sales at Penley and Sarnau, shed light on the reasons behind these sales, including retirement, changes in farming policy, and the unfortunate passing of owners.
Mr Gittins also highlighted the strong demand for second-hand farm machinery, making it an opportune time to take advantage of the buoyant market.
He said: “There are various reasons for the farm dispersal sales, including retirement, change of farming policy and, sadly, the owners passing away.
“There is also a strong trade for second-hand farm machinery, so it’s a good time to take advantage of the buoyant market.
“These dispersal sales always attract a good crowd, as the farming community likes to support fellow farmers and are keen to buy genuine machinery that has been used on the farm.”
In addition, Halls will be hosting the 14th Annual Show and Sale of Traditional, Native, and Rare Breeds, which includes the National Sale of Shropshire Sheep and the Midlands sale of Valais Blacknose on July 15.
The National Sale of Suffolk Sheep will follow on July 30, both at Shrewsbury Auction Centre.
