AN OSWESTRY man has been convicted of manslaughter following a trial in Stafford Crown Court.
Damien Roberts, of College Road, was charged with the manslaughter of 49-year-old Shrewsbury nightclub boss Robert Mills following a crash on the A5 last December.
The jury delivered a unanimous guilty verdict this lunchtime (Tuesday, July 4) after a week-long trial.
Jurors took under two days to return the verdict.

Robert's defence had asked for the manslaughter charge to be thrown out in favour of a lesser charge of death by dangerous driving but that was dismissed by the prosecution at Stafford in May.
The 27-year-old will be sentenced at Stafford Crown Court at 10am on Wednesday (July 5) for the incident which happened on Friday, December 2, last year.
Mr Mills died at the scene on the bridge crossing between the Gledrid roundabout and Halton roundabout, near Chirk.
Roberts was charged with manslaughter in January this year after initially being arrested for murder while in hospital for treatment.
