DERWEN College is set to become the hub of an exciting television project as a production company opens its doors to local actors.

With renowned TV stars on board, the TV pilot, set in a care home, aims to provide not only a platform for aspiring actors but also unique opportunities for young individuals with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

The Henry House Background Artists’ Television Workshop will be partially run by some of the show's cast members who themselves have SEND and hold significant roles in the program.

OTHER NEWS:

Kate Coldron, who portrays Karen in the show, explained: "Along with Gareth (the director) and myself, we will have many of our SEND actors helping to run the workshop.

“It is very important that our new supporting artists get a taste of Henry House and experience what it feels like to be on set and interact with our cast and crew."

This initiative not only brings together experienced actors and budding talents but also promotes inclusivity by actively involving individuals with SEND in the running of the workshop.

One of the young individuals with SEND, Anna Redding, shared her experience: "Since becoming part of Henry House, I have learned that you have to be professional even if you are stressed.

“You have to be patient with different people."
