A POPULAR Oswestry children's play area is set to reopen on Saturday (June 10).
The play area in Cae Glas Park was closed earlier today after a hole appeared in the middle of it.
At the time, Oswestry Town Council which is responsible for the park, confirmed it would be closed for today (Thursday) to allow for ‘emergency essential maintenance.’
In a post on Facebook, a spokesperson for the local authority, said the team is planning to complete the repairs by tomorrow (Friday), with the playground re-opening the following day.

The spokesperson added: “Today, we closed the children’s play area in Cae Glas Park, due to a hole appearing in the grounds.
“Following an investigation, we plan to complete the repairs to the hole tomorrow and hope to reopen the playground on Saturday, June 10.
“We thank the public for their patience and we’re doing our very best to resolve the problem quickly.
“The safety of the public is of paramount importance.”
The cause of the small hole was investigated by the Council, and they found an end pipe of a culvert without a grate, which over time has caused the ground to become uneven.
The spokesperson added: "A new grate will be installed tomorrow and new stone will be used to fill the hole to allow water to disperse through the ground, which will then be resurfaced with tarmac.
"The public can be assured the area will be repaired and remain a safe public space when it reopens.”
