AN OSWESTRY man has avoided an immediate prison sentence following an 'unprovoked attack' in the town centre last year.
Adam Smith, of Roft Street, Oswestry, caused grievous bodily harm without intent to Adam Jones, at Cross Street in Oswestry, on June 25, last year.
The 31-year-old indicated a guilty plea when he appeared at Telford Magistrates' Court on May 2.

Magistrates sentenced Smith to four months in prison but suspended it for 12 months.
They said this was because the incident was an "unprovoked attacked of a serious nature".
Smith was also ordered to complete 200 hours unpaid work and must pay Mr Jones £200 in compensation.
They said his guilty plea was taken into account.
Magistrates added that there would be no court costs or victim surcharge payment as they preferred Smith to pay the compensation.
