RESIDENTS in Oswestry are being warned to be aware of potential 'Nottingham Knockers' after reports on Thursday.
The call has been made by West Mercia Police officers as part of the Oswestry Safer Neighbourhood (SNT).
Nottingham Knocker is the term given to, traditionally, young men who go from door to door, selling household products.
They are usually given products to sell, but also the term has expanded to cover tradesmen making unsolicited calls to offer work.
Oswestry SNT tweeted: "We've had reports of Nottingham Knockers in the Oswestry area.
"Please be polite but firm and ask them to leave if you don't wish to buy anything.
"Any concerns please contact 101 and quote incident 00260_I_25052023."
