A CAR FIRE spread to two houses in Gobowen this morning, prompting rapid deployment of three fire crews.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call reporting two properties on fire at 9.22am on Monday, May 22, in Thomas Penson Road, Gobowen, and sent three engines from Ellesmere, Oswestry and Shrewsbury to the scene.

The car fire quickly escalated, engulfing two adjacent properties and compromising their gas and electricity supply.
A spokesperson from SFRS said: “The fire started from a car and then spread to two domestic properties.
“It has affected the gas and electricity supply so utility companies are also in attendance assisting the Fire Service.
“One 13.5-meter ladder and hose reel jets were used, and an operation officer is also in attendance.”
