VANDALS have trashed an outdoor learning area at a primary school near Oswestry.
A cleaner at Morda C of E Primary School discovered the damaged forest school and cabin which had been broken into and vandalised, this morning, Wednesday, May 10.
Co-headteachers John Eglin and Helen Chapman, said the local PCSO came around and had a look at the damage to the outdoor learning spaces inside the playground, while they have also filed a report to West Mercia Police.
They said they will engage with the community in the hope of increasing vigilance.
Mr Eglin said: “The police came and checked, but this kind of thing has happened before, and we usually talk to the community about it.
“We try to get the message to them that it is a nice space for children, and we don’t want it spoiled.
“There is no huge amount of damage, no-one was injured, and nothing was particularly stolen – I think it’s just a bit of antisocial behaviour.”

The co-headteacher added that the PCSO will come and visit the school more frequently to make sure everything is in order and that everyone is safe.
The school is also considering installing cameras, as a measure to keep everyone safe.
“I have been at the school for 17 years now, and this sort of thing happens from time to time,” Mr Eglin continued.
“Morda is a nice area, and we don’t have this kind of trouble frequently – it comes up now and then and we deal with it.”
The window to the shed and the door were broken during the incident but the co-headteachers are confident that they can get it repaired at no great expense.
Mrs Chapman added: “There was quite a lot of mess, but I am sure we will deal with it in no time.
“There are lots of people in the community who will keep an eye out, and Morda is a lovely place to be so we would like to keep it like that.
“I think everyone will be more vigilant now.”
