PUPILS at a school on the Shropshire border have been showing it some love with a recent event.
Llandysilio Church in Wales Primary School in Four Crosses, held a very successful 'Love Our School' day last month, where pupils, staff, parents and governors took care of the outdoor learning area.
Even members of the Four Crosses community worked together to give the school grounds a spring clean.
‘Love Our School’ day was organised by the FOLS (Friends of Llandysilio School), ensuring all areas were covered from fixing, tidying and painting, to tip runs and gardening.
Claire Richards, teacher, and member of the FOLS, said that it was a fantastic and really successful day.
She continued: “For a small school, getting so many people involved and everyone doing such a good job, it’s just really fantastic.
“Most importantly we got the children involved in this project and we really wanted to listen to what they think we should be doing.
“We prepared them in advance with lots of activities, helping them make a plan for the event.”

Mrs Richards said the community coming together helping the school, and its pupils, with the tasks was ‘fabulous’.
She added: “The bell at the school hasn’t been painted in God knows how long – and one of the volunteers came and did it. They painted it the original red colour and it looks amazing.
The school has received a lot of praise for the hard work that they have put in.
“We worked from 9am until 5pm,” Mrs Richards added, “and I think it really paid off.”
The teacher explained that the children really got involved and they seem to have loved every minute of it.
“We all enjoyed it, the children especially,” she said, “And I believe that volunteering an hour of your time is not that much, more so if it’s going to make a difference for future generations.”
The team also thanked everyone involved that decided to give up their time or supplies for this event to become a reality.
Headteacher, Amanda Williams, was also extremely pleased and proud of the community coming together to help the primary.
The school hopes to make this an annual event where they spring clean the outdoor learning space.
A new pre-school called Little Tysilio’s will also be opening in the grounds from September.
Lastly, the school’s Stay, Play and Chat group is held every Wednesday during term-time, from 9am until 11am at the village hall, in the school grounds.
