Stuart Foulkes has been elected as the 2023 Oswestry Golf Club men’s captain.
Stuart was born in Wrexham and has been playing golf for 25 years.
He has been a member of Oswestry for 16 years, serving for three years on the club’s executive committee.
Stuart is a serving member of the Royal Air Force where he is entering his 32nd year of Service and plays off a handicap of 7.2.
He is looking forward to representing the golf club, both on and off the golf course and is hoping that by playing more golf this year will lead him to that elusive first hole in one.

Meanwhile 26 handicapper Dorothy Mottram is the new ladies’ captain.
Dorothy has served on various committees at the Shropshire club and has joined forces with men’s captain Stuart Foulkes in raising money for the Childen’s Alice ward and the Veterans Orthopaedic Centre, both based at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital at Gobowen where Dorothy also volunteered for many years.
