A GARDEN centre near Chirk has revealed the winner its community award.

Last month Dobbies at Moreton Park encouraged local groups to sign up to its Helping Your Community Grow campaign with the chance of winning gardening resources to help their initiatives.

And it has now confirmed Neuro Therapy Centre has won the items which will be used to enhance their garden space.

The charity is located in Chester and looks after vulnerable members of the community, providing a warm and friendly place for those with a range of neurological conditions to experience therapeutic services and holistic support.

Jane Johnston Cree, CEO at Neuro Therapy Centre said: “We are thrilled to have been chosen by the Moreton Park store.

“Having an attractive outdoor space for people to relax and enjoy has been on our wish list for a while.

“Our social space is such an important part of our centre and is at the heart of where people can chat, form friendships, and support each other knowing everyone understands what they are going through.

“We’re looking forward to creating this new opportunity for our members and their Carers to get involved in – as gardening itself can be an activity people with neurological conditions miss out on.”

The charity has plans to expand its services over the next year, and as part of this development, it would love to be able to introduce an outdoor seating area and enhance its social space.

Dobbies’ support will provide the charity with raised beds and pots, alongside plants to brighten up the space.

Jonathan Howells, general manager at Dobbies Moreton Park said: “We are delighted to be supporting Neuro Therapy Centre and help them be crowned the national winners.

“We are looking forward to getting started and creating a peaceful and relaxing space.”

The charity will also be able to give carers an opportunity to use gardening as a form of therapy through volunteer opportunities in the gardening project.
