AN OSWESTRY wedding venue played host to a slice of Middle Earth at a recent wedding.
Barnutopia, in Oswestry, was the location for the excellent work of a cake designer from Colwyn Bay, who created an intricate Lord of the Rings-themed wedding cake for a couple’s special day.
Emmazing Bakes, which operates from a purpose-built cake studio in Ffordd-Y-Maer, Mochdre, was tasked with creating the Tolkien-inspired cake for Billy and Gee’s Lord of the Rings-themed wedding.
The couple’s entire wedding was based on the popular fantasy books, with the cake based on a hobbit hole and the cake topper a hobbit groom and ‘warrior maiden’ bride.
The colourful cake consisted of raspberry, honeycomb and vanilla flavours.

“I've been looking forward to making this cake for so long, for the loveliest couple Billy and Gee,” said Emma, who runs Emmazing Bakes.
“They had a Lord of the Rings-themed wedding – I loved making all the little details such as Bilbo Baggins birthday cake and party marquee on the top.
“Huge congratulations to you both, I hope you all had the most wonderful weekend celebrating. It was a pleasure to make and so much fun.”
