THE fast-food restaurant giant McDonald’s has been granted permission for a small tweak to its plans for an Oswestry restaurant.
The company is bringing its name to Oswestry to take a place on the old Smithfield market site, close to Morrisons supermarket, and will be joined by Costa, among others.
Though a date for its opening is yet to be confirmed, Mcdonald's will be bringing its wares to Oswestry in the autumn and last week, submitted plans to Shropshire Council for an additional window on its northern elevation.
Permission was granted by Shropshire Council on Wednesday, April 5.
The restaurant chain has had full planning permission for the Oswestry site since January 2021.
The plans for the fast-food eatery include a 100-seat restaurant and a drive-through, as well as a 45-space car park, with bicycle stands and a children's play area.
Earlier this year, a spokesman said: “We are excited about getting on site and starting building works in Oswestry and hope to have everything ready to open the restaurant in the autumn."
