A MAN who carried out a spate of minor thefts in Oswestry has denied assaulting a shop worker in the town.
Jamie Molineux, 19 and currently residing at the Travelodge hotel in Mile End, Oswestry, appeared at Telford Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, March 15 and pleaded guilty to five theft offences.
He admitted that between January 5 and 10 this year, he stole two crates of San Miguel beer, totalling £21.50, and two crates of Fosters costing £21 – both from the Co-op in Oswestry.
He also admitted stealing two vapes to the value of £7.98 on January 8 and two watermelon flavoured vapes and a bottle of wine – costing £10.97 – from the town's Home Bargain store.

Molineux also admitted sealing a further four vapes from Oswestry's Poundland costing £20; however, he denied assaulting Glena Milward who worked in one of the branches he targeted.
He will now face a trial at Telford Magistrates' Court on Thursday, July 20 at 10am.
Molineux will be sentenced for the thefts he had admitted after the result of his trial and was given conditional bail with conditions of not entering any of the stores named or contacting Glena Millward.
