A POPULAR tourist attraction will be opening its doors as part of the forthcoming National Lottery Open Week.

Chirk Castle will launch on Saturday, March 18 as part of the initiative which aims to thank lottery players who have helped to contribute towards the National Trust's vital conservation work.

During the week, anyone who presents a National Lottery ticket, or a scratchcard at any of the venues taking part, will gain access to special offers such as free or discounted entry.

A spokesperson for National Lottery said: "Every week National Lottery players raise more than £30 million which goes towards funding good causes across the UK.

"Each time you play The National Lottery you help make the UK a better place, and we want to say thank you.

OTHER NEWS:

"Since 1994, more than £47 billion has been raised for good causes. Due to this support, good cause projects in the arts, community, film heritage and sport are able to make a huge difference in their local communities.

"For making their work possible, National Lottery funded projects across the UK want to say #ThanksToYou to the National Lottery players by offering free entry or other special offers this National Lottery Open Week."

The event runs until Sunday, March 26, but anyone wanting to attend is asked to check the property website for the very latest opening times and details prior to your visit.

Players will need to provide proof of purchase when getting to Chirk Castle.

Booking in advance is not required, but one ticket means one adult gets free entry.

All National Lottery games, including National Lottery draw-based games and National Lottery scratchcards, purchased in store and online/via app qualify to redeem this offer.
