AN OSWESTRY-based author has released a murder-mystery book - set in the middle of town.
Dave Andrew's new book, Each Slow Dusk, is the 12th in his collection, and it has at its centre his home town of Oswestry.
The action is in the middle of town, and starts when a body is discovered at the foot of Wilfred Owen statue at Cae Glas Park.
The protagonist, Detective Chief Inspector Gary Probert - temporarily transferred, against his will, from Telford to Oswestry - unexpectedly finds himself heading up a baffling investigation.
Dave said that the idea came to him while in the midst of two other projects.
He continued: "The idea of writing a crime novel set in Oswestry came out of the blue at a time when I was actually working on two quite different projects.
"I’ve written other books connected with the town, including Wilfred Owen: Poet of Oswestry and The Oswestry Round, and I was keen to portray the town through the eyes of an outsider as newcomers often see things we locals sometimes take for granted.

"I had great fun writing it and I’m already planning a sequel where a body is discovered in the moat at Whittington Castle."
The new book combines a carefully-worked crime novel with a tale of growing romance as DCI Probert tries to come to terms with his past.
The book, which costs £9,99, is available from Booka, Rowanthorn, Oswestry Library, Oswestry TIC, Siop Cwlwm and other outlets in Oswestry or directly from the author at daveauthor54@gmail.com
