We had to start at the institution that is Salop Fish Bar. This venue has been serving hungry Oswestry residents for decades and has long been a favourite.
Customers have praised the friendly service and the excellent traditional fish, chips and mushy peas.

This excellently named establishment on Unicorn Road is a real hit with customers.
Offering a wide range of Pizzas, Pies, Kebabs, Sausages and burgers it is frequently praised for its excellent quality.
Their incredibly generous portions that will not leave you feeling cheated and are generally considered good value for money.

Whittington Quality Fish and Chips, Whittington
The name really does tell you everything you need to know.
This Whittington establishment is loved by local and really does offer quality fish and chips. Described by many customers as a “proper chippy” you will not be going home hungry.
The staff have received a lot of praise for their excellent and friendly service.
Shropshire Fish Bar, Ellesmere
A real pleasure is being able to have some chunky chips and being able to have a walk by the lake.
Ellesmere’s Shropshire Fish Bar delivers on this front. It has been praised for its chunky chips which will definitely leave you feeling full and happy. Customers also adore its excellent crispy batter which is gets a lot of love for not being light and not too greasy.

Llanymynech Fish and Chips, Llanymynech
This is very much a local fish and chip shop but is a well-loved little establishment.
It has been praised for its fresh cooked to order portions, that are a both generous and reasonably priced and the staff have been praised for their friendly service.
The shop isn’t the easiest to access and parking is limited so it may pay to order ahead.
