FAST FOOD chain, McDonald's says it is 'excited' after revealing when its new Oswestry restaurant is expected to open.
The restaurant is expected to be built on the former Smithfield livestock market site off Shrewsbury Road.
A spokesperson from McDonald's said: "We are excited about getting on site and starting building works in Oswestry and hope to have everything ready to open the restaurant in the autumn."

Plans for the new restaurant were approved by Shropshire Council's planners in January 2021, with the company saying they would bring an employment boost to Oswestry, with an estimated 30 full time and 35 part time positions.
The plans for the fast-food eatery include a 100-seat restaurant and a drive-through, as well as a 45-space car park, with bicycle stands and a children's play area.
At present the nearest branch is at Chirk.
