CHIRK AAA travel to Porthmadog on Saturday with the Colliers believing their season could be set for lift off.
Victory at home to Mold Alexandra last weekend has given the side renewed optimism following a long losing run.
Chirk remain in the relegation zone but now only a point behind Llanidloes Town with three games in hand.
Coach Gary Jones insisted last weekend’s result had been richly deserved and had also been coming for a while.
He said: “It is a a result we’ve felt has been coming for a while.

“There has been an improvement in the squad in the January transfer window as well as upping our fitness training since the Christmas period.
“Everyone is playing with confidence at the moment and it was a good performance from us against a strong mold side.”

Jones also highlighted the role of their forward line with January signing Max McLaughlin having a great impact since his arrival from Ardal North East League side Llanfair United.
Jones said: “Our forward forward are causing trouble for sides. Max and Rhys both scored on Saturday and Dale Davies’ man of the match award showed that.”
