OSWESTRY and Borders Flower Club started the year off with a successful first meeting and with a new competition for its members.
The first meeting of the New Year got off to an entertaining start with a demonstration “A Walk on the Wild side” by Jane Pugh.
The club has also launched this month's first competition "Frugal Flower" across all classes, which is about members' own interpretation of the title, NAFAS rules apply.
A spokesperson from the the Flowers Club said: "We would like to encourage all members to participate in the our club competition this year, it’s a golden opportunity to practice your creative skills, we are always amazed by the quality of the entries our members display."

This year as well as a variety of top flower arrangement demonstrators, you’ll have an opportunity to go home with a fabulous arrangement as their work is raffled off.
The club will host a garden visit in June to Merton Gardens in Bicton, a Workshop in September with renowned demonstrator Dianne Fair from Chester on “What the Judge is looking for”.
Mmembership at Oswestry and Borders Flower Club is £30 a year.
The next meeting at Morda Village Hall, Morda is on February 21 at 7.30pm with Louise Jones, from Wallasey, and her talk “Elements”.
"If you love flowers and plants, love to see how arrangements are put together, meet and make new friends then come along to our meetings third Tuesday of the month, except June(garden visit), August (holidays) and November (Christmas Dem) we look forward to meeting you" added the Club.
