DRIVERS using the A5 and A483 roads across Shropshire and Mid Wales are set to be disrupted from now until at least the middle of February because of works.
Carriageway repairs on the A483 Mile End roundabout are set to finish around Friday, February 3 – though delays through there have reportedly been minimal – but the southbound road to Llanymynech is expected to be disrupted until April 1.
And then, according to National Highways, from Monday, February 13 until Thursday, February 16 – from 8pm until 6am each night – the A 5 will be closed in both directions from Gledrid roundabout to the 'Five Crosses' exit for Gobowen, the Orthopaedic hospital and Oswestry.
A national Highways spokesman said: "Drivers in and around Shropshire will have 12 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.
"And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing a wait of between 10 minutes and half an hour.
"National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule."
