A MAJOR route on the English/Welsh border will be closed for two nights this week to allow for bridge repairs.
The A5/A483 between the Gledrid and Halton roundabouts near Chirk will be closed between 8pm and 6am on Tuesday, January 24 and Wednesday, January 25.

Traffic Wales North & Mid confirmed the closure on Twitter earlier on Wednesday.
They said: "Closure to carry out essential bridge works, local diversion in place."

It comes after the bridge carrying traffic over the River Ceiriog was damaged following a fatal collision in December.
Recently, traffic has been reduced to 40mph along a stretch of the road for safety reasons.
