THERE are changes afoot at one of Oswestry's most well known petrol stations as the Shell branding will be replaced by Applegreen.

The Irish based company – which has garages across North and Mid Wales – owns the forecourt and has come to the end of its contract with Shell.

It will now reopen, with work expected on the forecourt and shop premises, and manager Louise Meredith says she believes the new company will offer competitive, value-for-money pricing.

She said: "Applegreen in Oswestry have now ended their contract with Shell and are in the process of re-branding the forecourt to Applegreen.

OTHER NEWS:

"Myself and all the staff are very excited about this change as it means a much-needed update of the forecourt and eventually the shop too.

"Customers will have already seen a lot of the old Shell colours being removed and replaced with a much more modern and fresh look, along with the signature Applegreen logo.

"Work is expected to continue in the next week to complete the forecourt branding with a shop refit expected to take place in the coming months also.

"Trading as Applegreen now means fuel pricing can be much more competitive as we will be able to match if not be cheaper than other forecourts while still providing a good quality fuel which is something the people of Oswestry have been very happy about this week.

"The staff have worked very hard to try and make the transition as easy as possible for all our lovely customers.

"We encourage everyone to come down and give Applegreen a try for quality fuel at a cheap price – you won’t be disappointed."
