MULTI-award winning Shropshire business Salop Leisure is working with a Mid Wales manufacturer to sell shepherd’s huts to the booming staycation and glamping market.
Salop Leisure Innovative Solutions, the special projects division of the Shrewsbury-based business, has teamed up with Gareth Rowlands, who manufactures the shepherd’s huts in Rhayader, to fill a gap in the market for innovative glamping accommodation.
The two businesses promoted the shepherd’s huts, which can be used for tourism accommodation, garden offices or garden rooms, at the Royal Welsh Winter Fair in Builth Wells last month and they have been very well received.
Salop Leisure’s Innovative Solutions division, headed up by project manager Samantha Stubbs, aims to work with partner companies to maximise the retail opportunities presented by the booming demand for staycation holidays.
“We work with our clients to help them develop their businesses, advising on planning, infrastructure improvements, product and service offerings, marketing, customer service, financing, delivery and siting,” said Samantha.
“We truly are a full service provider with the flexibility to offer as many or as few of these services as required.”
The timber or corrugated metal clad shepherd’s hut, which comes in a range of sizes, has been designed to offer a variety of accommodation options, with quality and comfort in mind. Each hut is handcrafted using quality materials to achieve a beautiful, authentic look.
The hut has a cosy double bed with storage, a panoramic window, a compact galley kitchen with built-in appliances, a breakfast bar with a feature window and shower room.
Salop Leisure also sells the Swift S-Pod 6 and a range of glamping accommodation manufactured by Lowfield Leisure in Marton, near Shrewsbury.
The S-Pod 6 is capable of sleeping six people thanks to a cleverly designed, raised bunk area, a kitchen and dining area and a washroom. Additional living space is provided by the S-Pod 6 Escape which has an integrated veranda.
The new models of glamping accommodation have been designed by Salop Leisure and built by Lowfield Leisure offer 1 and 2-bedroom options with spacious living areas, bathrooms and separate bedrooms.
The company will supply the shepherds hut and S-Pod ranges to customers within two hours travelling distance of Shrewsbury. For more information, contact Samantha on 01743 282400 or email sam.stubbs@salopleisure.co.uk.
