When the doors of St Michael's Church, Llanfihangel-yng-Ngwynfa, near Llanfyllin closed for the final time in January 2020 it seemed like the end of an era.
However, after a break of almost three years, the community is getting together to bring back two familiar events, including one of Wales' oldest Christmas traditions, and holding them in the newly-refurbished village hall.
The popular Christingle service will be held this Sunday (December 11) at 4pm.
This service is a joyful celebration that brings together families and communities to share the light of Jesus and spread a message of hope. Every child attending will be given their own Christingle to take home.

The Plygain Fawr will be held in the hall on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at 6.30pm, and a warm welcome is extended to all.
Plygain - a traditional Welsh Christmas service mostly confined to Montgomeryshire - dates back to the 13th Century and features traditional Welsh carols sung unaccompanied and in close harmony.
