AN OSWESTRY wool shop has won a second award in two months after being named the Best Independent Yarn Shop in the Midlands category at prestigious Knitting and Crochet Awards 2022.
It marks the second award scooped by Ewe & Ply, Oswestry’s yarn and knitting shop on English Walls, in less than two months, in October, Ewe & Ply’s creative display of hand-knitted, crotcheted and felted wild plants and fungi won Best Retail Display in the Oswestry in Bloom Awards.
The shop sells a spectacular range of natural and ethically sourced wool, yarn and fibre in a rainbow of colours, sourced from Shetland to Peru to Shropshire.
Becca Tansley and Teri Evans, co-owners of the shop, dye their own yarns too, spun from the fleeces of local sheep, then kettle-dyed into an ever-changing collection of colour variations, and they are both very thrilled to have won this award.
