A LLANSILIN church is preparing for a month full of holidays celebrations, with their annual Crown of Light, Christmas Carols, and the Christmas Eve Holly Communion.

St Silin's Church, on the B4580, will start their month off by turning on the Crown of Light, that will shine from their tower throughout the Advent month of December, over Llansilin village.

The church are asking that in appreciation of this wonderful approach to Christmas people are invited to make donations to two local hospices, the Hope House Hospice for children, nearby Morda and Severn Hospice, Shrewsbury.

They added: "The brain wave of the late Reverend Chrisopher Carter the lights encircle the top of the tower and make a splendid glow over the village and can be seen from the hills surrounding the valley.

Moving forward towards Christmas – the church extends a warm welcome to everyone for the family Christmas Carols on December 18, at 10.30am.

Finally, the Crown of Light will be welcoming everyone to the Christmas Eve Holy Communion, which this year will be at the earlier time of 6.30pm.
