WELCOME to the camera club as we celebrate all that is glorious from our small pocket of the country.
We are well and truly into November now and even the most hardy among us will be starting to feel the bite of winter.
November has his critics but certainly enjoyed its champions over the years.
The 19th century American naturalist Henry David Thoreau said: “The thinnest yellow light of November is more warming and exhilarating than any wine they tell of. The mite which November contributes becomes equal in value to the bounty of July” while scholar Gregory Lenz wrote : “Welcome sweet November, the season of senses and my favourite month of all.”
It is a busy month with plenty going on in the community calendar, from Hallowe'en to Guy Fawkes night and everything in between.

However it is also a month of preparation as many people will be looking ahead to Christmas and New Year.
Of course it is a special time but also a stressful one and this year is expected to be tougher than many which have preceded it as costs spiral and the country continues to suffer the cost of living crisis.
However we can perhaps find solace in more words written about the month of November.
For it's just like Axl Rose from Guns N' Roses sang: "Nothin' lasts forever and we both know hearts can change, and it's hard to hold a candle in the cold November rain."
Hopefully we can all take comfort in that.
