SENIOR citizens in Oswestry are being invited to take up the opportunity for a free special Christmas-themed Afternoon tea next month.
The tea, which will take place in the Memorial Hall in English Walls, will be on Saturday, December 10 12 noon until 2pm, and has been organised by Oswestry town councillor Gemma Cassin.
She says the day has already received plenty of support from business and community members – now all she needs is people to come and have a great day.
She said: "We've had a huge amount of support from the community as always.
"Guests can expect to have a choice of goodies, carols and bingo – it should be a great afternoon.
"The aim of the event is to bring a little sparkle to our guests' Christmas.
"We’re all aware that our older communities suffer with isolation and loneliness.
"So this community event if for them and it’s free – all you need to do is contact me to register."
Anyone wishing to take part can do so by ringing 07592 798448 or email gemmacassin@hotmail.co.uk
