Firefighters were called to a suspected gas leak in Llynclys on Sunday night.
The incident in Brynmelyn happened at around 11.30pm and saw one crew from Oswestry in attendance.
A spokesperson for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "This incident involved a possible leak of heating oil.
"The external supply was isolated by fire service personnel pending inspection by a qualified engineer."
The stop call to say no other crews were needed came in just after midnight.
