VETERANS, cadets and dignitaries from Oswestry and Shropshire paid tribute to the war fallen on Remembrance Sunday.
The event, which has returned to full capacity since the end of the Covid-19 pandemic, welcomed thousands of people to Oswestry on Sunday.
Oswestry's town mayor, Councillor Jay Moore, led a parade of civic dignitaries such as North Shropshire MP Helen Morgan, deputy Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire Veronica Lillis, as well as youngsters representing groups from the across the town.
The Remembrance Sunday parade began at the Bailey Head as cadets from all strands of the military were joined by other groups to march through the town to a service outside the Memorial Gates at Cae Glas Park.
Town councillors and former mayors also joined proceedings as the town came out to pay tribute to those who have died serving their country in the two world wars, and the conflicts since then.
A town council spokesman said: "The parade was led by members of the Porthywaen Silver Band before a two-minute silence was observed by participants at 11am, outside the Memorial Gates.
"The parade then returned to the Bailey Head prior to dismissal by the Parade Marshall.
"A Service of Remembrance was held at St Oswalds Parish Church at 4pm."
