OSWESTRY's Bailey Head has been named the go-to destination for real ale and cider, appearing in Campaign for Real Ale's (CAMRA) Good Beer Guide 2023 for the sixth consecutive year.
The Bailey Head has won a slew of local and national awards in the six years since it opened in March 2016 and the pub has been in the Good Beer Guide for each year it has been open.
The premier publication, published annually by CAMRA, features the best pubs for a pint in the UK.
Duncan Borrowman, co-owner of the pub, said it was the pinnacle of running a pub.
"Being in the Good Beer Guide means the world to us.
"It reflects the hard work we put into sourcing and serving excellent beer.
"It’s a really important to us, especially as it is the result of hundreds of people scoring our beers and local CAMRA members judging and voting for us."
The West Midlands guide covers 387 of the very best pubs across Shropshire, Herefordshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire, and keeps track of brewery numbers.
Grace Goodlad, co-owner of the pub, added: "We are so proud to have achieved this.
"My husband Duncan works incredibly hard to make sure we consistently serve excellent real ales and craft beers, to be recognised in this way for the sixth consecutive time means the world to us
"The Guide is the pubgoers bible that real ale drinkers rely on due to how it is compiled, you can’t buy a place in the Guide, you have to work for it."
Their place was won with the public's vote, as the guide is tailored for the visitor's needs, therefore making it from the public to the public.
It is compiled by thousands of independent volunteers, while helping identify significant trends and themes locally and nationally.
Grace said: "We sometimes get people come to our pub as a result of the guide.
"They see it's rated highly so they pop in, usually on their way to North Wales, like Snowdonia."
