THE family of Rebecca Steer, 22, who tragically died after being struck by a vehicle in Oswestry last week have offered their heartfelt thanks to the community for their support.
The Liverpool John Moores University student died in the early hours of Sunday, October 9 aftyer she was struck by a car outside Grill Out in Willow Street.
Stephen McHugh, a 27-year-old man, has been charged with murder in relation to the collision.
A fundraiser was launched immediately to support the family by Llanymynech Helping Hands which closed in on around £9,000.
Her family thanked all for their support.
They said: “We would like to pass on our sincere thanks and overwhelming gratitude for the compassion and support shown to us following the tragic death of our daughter, Becca.

"The support from the community has provided our family with such strength and comfort in the most tragic circumstances imaginable.
"The kindness shown to our family and for Becca is truly extraordinary.”
Her family have asked that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.
McHugh is expected to enter a plea next month when he appears at Stafford Crown Court.
