THE owners of a corner shop near Oswestry say they are delighted to be open again, having been closed for six and a half months after a car crashed through its wall earlier this year.
The Corner Shop in Morda reopened on Tuesday, September 20, after the car came through its wall in March.
The shop has been owned by Jas Singh, who is a councillor for Oswestry Rural Parish, and her family since 2012 and Jas spoke about how the shop is important for many residents in the village.
She said: "It is great, it is nice to be back here. I felt as though I was letting my customers down, my community, as they had to go into town.
"Not everybody has a car and not all of them can walk into town."

Jas described the night of when the car ploughed into the shop like a 'scene out of a movie.'
She said: "It was like a scene out of a movie, it is not something that happens everyday.
"We'd never ever thought something like this could happen."
The family spoke fondly about support from people in the village and people have been returning to the store as customers.
Jas added: "They have been so good, it is like a big family in Morda.
"It is not that we don't know our neighbours, we know everybody and everybody knows us.
"Everybody is coming back now, most people have probably done their shopping haven't they.
"They have been to town, they have done their shopping and realised that we are open.
"So they are all coming back to us and tell us how happy they are.
"Especially now that winter is coming, they don't have to go into town."
In addition to people in Morda, the shop receives customers from outside the village.
Jas said: "We do get some passing trade, we get some people from Trefonen.
"We have got the Woodland Care Home, so when people are visiting, they do come.
"And also people from Hope House."
The family thanked their builders, Birch & Sons General Building Ltd.
Jas put out a reminder that the shop is open and there to help people.
She said: "We are open and we have stocked up.
"If there is anything anybody needs they can come and tell us and we will stock it for them.
"That is my message out to the community in Morda."
